At 29 years old. I have done the inevitable. I have become one with braces. Yes the corrective metal wires that are attached to your teeth and help pull them together again like a big happy family. Yup, I got em. Just call me Brace Mami from here on out lol. The crazy thing about this is that I was and still am so excited to have them on. Literally smiling from ear to ear as I type.
I think the significance of starting braces so far along in life is the fact that you can “start” just about anything whenever you want! What I’ve taken away from this remarkable and painful experience is that it really is never too late. It is never too late to do anything that you feel will help enhance your life in the long run. I have a friend who recently went back to school to do a whole new career from what she already has experience and a degree in. Talk about balls! She knew that something had to change in her life to get her where she wanted to be so she just decided to “start”, and she has definitely #Started. Life is too short to dwell on what you should have done or could have done. Why don’t you just do it! You only live once and if you do it right, once is enough!
Initially, of course, the braces felt ackward and I felt like they were the only thing you could probably see on my face. As the days passed by and I learned how to eat and floss, like riding a bike, it became easier to deal with. What I want you guys to take away from this is that, in the beginning, when you do start out in whatever it is you wanted to do. It wont be easy. It will feel like your teeth literally have a headache LOL(facts). I do promise you that it does get easier and soon you’ll be flossing with your eyes closed 😀 (FlossMami).
I will have to wear these bad boys for about 2 years maybe less If I take care of them and floss as I should. I’m excited about this journey and even more excited to see the progress. What journey are you about to embark on to better yourself this year? 2017 is the year of the level up. We are only getting older, dont let time pass you by and your still dreaming about those braces. Better get you some girl 😉 #BraceMami #FlossinFreddy #Started #AgeAintNutnButANumber
